Vanity (Ecclesiastes 2:21-23)

Myth of Narcissus - John William Waterhouse 1903

Are you vain?

Do you celebrate the sin that lies in your heart,

the toil for one's gain

without thought of other,

love,

for one's own profit,

without considering God's word?

Vanity

defies all wisdom.

Vanity

keeps the Lord's voice unheard.

Vanity

places ones focus on self.

Vanity

tolerates pride

and leads the soul to sorrow.
