Light

Light,
consumed by shadows
dispels no darkness.
Light,
cloaked
by the dusk of evil
offers no clarity.

Hold the lamp
where it may be seen.
Let its illumination
chase the vile acts of night
from unseen corners,
harboring transgressions.

Light,
on a pedestal
to shine forth.
Light,
giving vision
to blindness.
Light,
filling the heart
of one who believes
and offers our world
hope.
